Combined Month to Month (mtm) inflation of eight Jawa Timur cities in June 2023 of 0.10 percent

Abstraction

• The combined year on year (yoy) inflation for eight cities in June 2023 was 4.59 percent. The combined month to month (mtm) inflation rate for 8 cities in June 2023 was 0.10 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.91.
• Yoy inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 4.44 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 3.30 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.54 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 3.36 percent; the health group by 3.87 percent; transportation group by 10.08 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 1.56 percent; the education group by 4.98 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 5.90 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 5.17 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.10 percent.
• At the city level, the highest yoy inflation for June 2023 occurred in Surabaya at 4.91 percent with a CPI of 116.43 and the lowest occurred in Madiun at 3.25 percent with a CPI of 113.74.
• The June 2023 yoy inflation rate for the energy component was 12.80 percent, on a mtm basis it experienced a deflation of 0.78 percent.
• The June 2023 yoy inflation rate for the foodstuff component was 3.40 percent, with the mtm inflation rate of 0.34 percent.
