Abstraction

The combined year on year (yoy) inflation for eight cities in February 2023 was 6.47 percent. The combined month to month (mtm) inflation rate for 8 cities in February 2023 was 0.10 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 114.78.
Yoy inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by increases in most of the expenditure group indices, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.68 percent; the clothing and footwear group by 2.70 percent; the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group by 2.74 percent; equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 4.40 percent; the health group by 4.61 percent; transportation group of 14.73 percent; the recreation, sports and culture group by 2.14 percent; the education group by 4.98 percent; the group providing food and drink/restaurants by 9.67 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 6.77 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.10 percent.
At the city level, the highest yoy inflation for February 2023 occurred in Jember at 7.21 percent with a CPI of 116.05 and the lowest occurred in Probolinggo at 5.36 percent with a CPI of 112.39.
The February 2023 yoy inflation rate for the energy component was 16.78 percent, and the mtm did not change.
The February 2023 yoy inflation rate for the food component was 7.32 percent, with an mtm inflation rate of 0.34 percent.
