Abstraction

Fisherman's Exchange Rate (NTN) is a comparison of the price index received by fishermen (It) to the price index paid by fishermen (Ib).
NTN is an indicator to see the level of fishermen's ability/purchasing power. NTN also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of captured fishery products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
East Java Fisherman's Exchange Rate (NTN) in October 2023 fell 0.09 percent from 100.01 in September 2023 to 99.92 in October 2023.
The development of NTN in October 2023 compared to December 2022 (calendar year) decreased by 2.52 percent. Meanwhile, the development of NTN in October 2023 compared to October 2022 (year on year) decreased by 2.82 percent.
Of the six provinces on the island of Java that carried out NTN calculations in October 2023, four provinces experienced a decrease in NTN, and two provinces experienced an increase in NTN. Yogyakarta Special Region Province was the province that experienced the highest decline in NTN, namely 2.88 percent, followed by DKI Jakarta Province which fell 0.39 percent, Central Java Province fell 0.32 percent, and East Java Province fell 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, West Java Province and Banten Province rose 1.16 percent and 0.24 percent respectively.
In October 2023, the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in East Java increased by 0.50 percent and the Production Cost and Additional Capital Goods Index (BPPBM) also increased by 0.06 percent.
