Abstraction

Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, all experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Surabaya City at 1.52 percent, while the lowest inflation occurred in Banyuwangi Regency at 0.87 percent.
Inflation occurred due to a general increase in prices, as indicated by the increase in most indexes of the expenditure group. Of the eleven expenditure groups, nine groups experienced inflation, one group experienced deflation and one group experienced no change. The expenditure group that experienced the highest inflation was the transportation group at 9.38 percent, followed by the food and beverage/restaurant supply group at 1.17 percent, the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group at 0.62 percent, the recreation, sports, and household groups. culture by 0.61 percent, health group by 0.36 percent, personal care and other services group by 0.18 percent, information, communication and financial services group by 0.06 percent, housing, water, electricity, and materials group household burn and clothing and footwear groups each by 0.05 percent, while the group experiencing defecation is the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.4 percent. The group that did not experience any change was the education group.
The September 2022 calendar year inflation rate was 5.51 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2022 to September 2021) was recorded at 6.80 percent.
