Economic Growth of Indonesia First Quarter 2021 descend 0.74 percent (y-on-y)

Abstraction

• The Indonesian economy based on the amount of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at the current price of the first quarter of 2021 reached IDR3 969.1 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR2 683.1 trillion.
• The Indonesian economy in the first quarter of 2021 against the first quarter of 2020 experienced a growth contraction of 0.74 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, the Transportation and Warehousing Business Field experienced the deepest growth contraction of 13.12 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Non-Profit Institution Consumption Expenditure Component Serving Households (PK-LNPRT) became the component with the deepest contraction of 4.53 percent.
• The Indonesian economy in the first quarter of 2021 against the previous quarter experienced a growth contraction of 0.96 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the Education Service Business Field, amounting to 13.04 percent. From the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the deepest growth contraction of 43.35 percent.
• The spatial structure of the Indonesian economy in the first quarter of 2021 was dominated by the province group in Java Island at 58.70 percent, with economic performance experiencing a growth contraction of 0.83 percent (y-on-y). The province group in Maluku and Papua Islands recorded the highest growth of 8.97 percent (y-on-y) with a role of 2.44 percent.
