Abstraction

Jawa Timur Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) in August 2020 fell 0.38 percent from 100.21 to 99.83. The decrease in NTP was due to the decrease in the price index received by farmers (It) compared to the decrease in the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
In August 2020, four agricultural sub-sectors experienced a decrease in NTP and one sub-sector experienced an increase. The sub-sector that experienced the largest decline in NTP occurred in the Horticulture sub-sector by 2.82 percent from 93.62 to 90.97, followed by the Animal Husbandry sub-sector, namely 1.86 percent from 101.68 to 99.79, and the People's Plantation sub-sector by 1.30 percent from 99.68 to 98.39, and the fisheries sub-sector by 0.21 percent from 97.31 to 97.11. Meanwhile, the sub-sector that experienced an increase in NTP was the Food Crops sub-sector by 0.85 percent from 101.09 to 101.95.
From five provinces on Jawa Island that calculated their NTP in August 2020, three provinces experienced a decrease in NTP, and two provinces experienced an increase. The largest decrease in NTP occurred in the province of Jawa Barat with 0.56 percent, followed by the province of Yogyakarta with 0.42 percent, and in Jawa Timur with 0.38 percent. Meanwhile, provinces that experienced an increase in NTP were Banten province by 0.88 percent and Jawa Tengah province by 0.22 percent.
