Abstraction
  • In October 2019 East Java experienced a deflation of 0.02 percent. Of the eight CPI cities in East Java, five cities experienced inflation and three cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation in Kediri reached 0.32 percent, while the highest deflation occurred in Banyuwangi of 0.09 percent.
  • Of the seven expenditure groups, two groups experienced deflation and five groups experienced inflation. The group that experienced the highest inflation was the Health group by 0.44 percent, while the group that experienced the highest deflation was the Foodstuffs group by 0.40 percent.
  • The main commodities that contributed the most to deflation in East Java in October 2019 were chicken eggs, cayenne pepper, and gold jewelery. While the commodities that contributed the most to inflation were purebred chicken, filter clove cigarettes, and shallots.
  • The inflation rate of the East Java calendar year in October 2019 reached 1.35 percent, while the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2019 against October 2018) reached 2.24 percent.
  • In October 2019 the core group experienced inflation of 0.07 percent, the component regulated by the government experienced inflation of 0.07 percent, and the volatile component experienced deflation of 0.52 percent.
