Indonesian Economy Grows 3.51 Percent

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the Indonesian economy in Quarter III-2021 grew 3.51 percent when compared to Quarter III-2020 (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field experienced the highest growth of 14.06 percent. From the expenditure side, the Export Component of Goods and Services experienced the highest growth of 29.16 percent. This condition of economic growth was conveyed by the Head of BPS, Margo Yuwono in the Press Release of Indonesia's Economic Growth Quarter III-2021 and the State of Indonesia's Employment in August 2021, (5/11).
When compared to Quarter II-2021 (q-to-q), it grew by 1.55 percent. In terms of production, the Health Services and Social Activities Business Field experienced the highest growth of 16.10 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the Export Component of Goods and Services experienced the highest growth of 9.28 percent.
"This has not reached the level in previous years because there are various events and a major influence is the PPKM which hampers mobility which ultimately disrupts economic activity as a whole," explained Margo.
BPS also released the number of the workforce in August 2021 as many as 140.15 million people, an increase of 1.93 million people compared to August 2020. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 0.03 percentage point.
