Kick Off Population Census September 2020 BPS Pasuruan Regency

The Kick Off event for the 2020 Population census of Pasuruan Regency at the Pasuruan Regency BPS Meeting Hall was held on Monday (31/8/2020). All structural officials and staff of the Pasuruan Regency BPS were solemnly present to attend the event. The September 2020 Population Census Kick Off in Pasuruan Regency was carried out in a virtual manner which was also witnessed by all the census officers of the BPS Pasuruan Regency. The Regional Secretary of Pasuruan Regency, Anang Saiful Wijaya gave a speech and support for the September 2020 Population Census. He instructed all levels of government and all Pasuruan Regency people to participate in the success of the 2020 Population Census in September 2020.

The Population Census is held every ten years and this year is the 7th Population Census. The 2020 Population Census aims to obtain information on the number, composition, distribution and characteristics of the population towards one population data. Population data is the basic data used to make development plans. Through the data from the Population Census, the government will know how many health facilities must be built, how many educational facilities should be provided, how many public facilities must be established and various other development policies. The accuracy of the Population Census data will determine the accuracy of the government in formulating various development policies and programs.

The number of Census officers deployed in Pasuruan Regency in the September 2020 Population Census is 1,291 officers spread across 24 sub-districts. In connection with the pandemic condition, all census officers deployed have taken the rapid test with non-reactive results and followed the health protocol. Census officers wear standard personal protective equipment in the form of masks, face shiled, gloves and are equipped with hand sanitizers. In addition, census officers are also provided with identification and assignment letters. With this mitigation, it is hoped that the community will feel calm and not worry about receiving census officers in September 2020.

All residents play an important role in producing accurate data by accepting census officers and providing data honestly and correctly. The participation of the entire population is the key to the success of the September 2020 Population Census.
